Keith thought he took spooky Friday the 13th style pictures...

Dylan

My cat is having a fight.
She's battling with her tail.
She's staring it down,
it begins to twitch as she breaths in & out...
Then in slow motion, her front paw reaches up,
getting ever closer to her back.
Slowly, slowly... then BAM!
She tries to attack it.
But ends up running in circles as it keeps eluding her.
This goes on for up to 10 minutes.
By then I think she's too dizzy to remember what she's fighting for.

A change of pace

Yesterday I finally went to the doctor's. I got myself some antibiotics & Rx decongestant to get over this infection. Once it was in my system, I made my way to the great outdoors & cleaned up a section of the flower beds.

Looks like I'm not the only one who made it out...

All weekend this spider was found smack in the middle of it's web... but not yesterday... Yesterday it ventured from the center of it's web to my pepper plant. As long as it doesn't eat my peppers, I'm okay with that. :)

Cleaning...

Bet you thought I was talking about the house -- wrong! I've been cleaning out my e-mail inbox this morning... came across a few things that I forgot all about. They're just too good to simply delete & forget it again, so I'm sharing with one & all.

LIPSTICK IN SCHOOL

According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington recently was faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night the maintenance man would remove them and the next day the girls would put them back.

Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night. To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required.

He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.

There are teachers, and then, there are educators.

POTATO PROSTITUTES

Two little potatoes are standing on the street corner. One is a prostitute.

How can you tell which one is the prostitute?

Hold on......

Don't Worry, Be Happy

Published: 09/28/06

(HealthDay News) -- While stress is an unavoidable part of life, learning how to manage the tension can help ward off stress-related health problems.

Here are some stress-busting tips from the Detroit Medical Center:
  • Do something just for yourself.
  • Discuss your feelings with a friend or family member.
  • Exercise at least three times a week.
  • Avoid overindulging in food, alcohol or over-the-counter medications.
  • Eat at least one hot meal a day.
  • Cut down on drinks that contain caffeine.
  • Learn and use meditation or relaxation exercises.
  • Take up yoga or Tai Chi.
  • Go see a funny movie or rent a comedy from a video store.
  • Have regular physical examinations.

Keep the tissues coming...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Well, it would seem that I still have my mysterious bug. It's the never-ending congestion that keeps the tissues & cough medicine nearby. Last Tuesday was definitely the worst of it. However, yesterday I woke up with an intense sinus headache at 4am. Today, it's the post nasal drip that got me -- I woke up at 5:30am trying to swallow & having difficulties. I suppose I'd rather be startled awake than be in the agonizing pain of yesterday. (That and it waited an hour & a half to be triggered.) So now I'm left a bit exhausted, but I thought... if I'm up, may as well do something. And now that I've completed that task, I'll lay down & watch the rest of Indian Jones (I started it last night).

Bah, 'Cold' Bug

You know, instead of Bah, Hum Bug.
Yeah, not too creative on my part.
I just needed a little touch of "contact" with the world out there.
I've been home all day wearing a hole in the couch.
This is the first I've sat down anywhere else.
I've been slowly coming down with something -- involving congestion & sore throat.
Sunday my voice started showing signs of it.
Yesterday was worse.
Then when I was getting ready for work this morning, I felt like my head needed to explode.
During the day I felt much better.
Now I'm back to pain.
While I don't know what being strangled feels like, that's the best way I can describe my throat at the moment.
It's not sore, it's tight & constricting.
I'm used to sinus pressure in my head, not in my neck.
It's odd.
I hope it goes away.
So, Bah (something) Bug, Go Away!

Our House

When I shared pictures of the house's fresh paint,
I intended to post a picture from when we first got the house
(just to add to the comparison)...
but I couldn't find one at the time.
Since then, I've found a photo & scanned it.
It was a different angle, so last night I took one of the front,
and now you can compare.
How many differences can you find? (Besides the season!)

I'll give you one you can't necessarily see at this angle...
*The steps to the left of the front door.
You could see that in the other photo I shared for the before and after of the paint job (here it is again).
It's amazing what you can do in 5 years!
