Sweet Relief

Saturday we finally (FINALLY) went to a Sleep Number store to try out a bed. We are in desperate need of a new one... Both of us fell in love with the bed! Of course at two totally different levels of firmness, which is why this bed works. (My back actually felt comfortable!) Anywho, we ordered one that day & were told it would take about 2 weeks for it to arrive. I began the countdown! However I checked the shipping info today... it's to arrive *tomorrow*!! WooHoo, do a little happy dance! I only hope it doesn't take much to get it set up, cause I am ready to sleep on it!!!! (Washing the sheets at this very moment!)

Bog of Stench

I unexpectedly discovered a recipe for a personal bog of stench this morning...

1. Pull Just weeds from the garden
2. Add them to plastic bucket
3. Let the mixture sit for a few days (one or two of which include rain)

Voila, you've concocted your own personal bog of stench!

Enjoy the aroma and think of Labyrinth.

Beds

Ok people in Bloggerland, who can tell me what about Sleep Number beds? My bed is HORRIBLE & Keith is finally feeling my pain. Literally. I'm afraid of going out & spending boo-koo bucks on a mattress only to find I hate it. Any thoughts?

June Blooms

Standing upright, the stargazer lily would be as tall as me!
Looks like a flower... but I don't recognize it, so it could be a weed.
Since it's pretty, I kept it!

*Sigh*

Unfortunately it's not one of relief, but of exasperation.
pizza box! Pictures, Images and Photos
The pizza box has now struck twice.
Causing both chaos and destruction to the kitchen.

Last night it knocked a pottery tile off the wall. At this point it is not retrievable as it is held captive behind the stove. (Hopefully it is in one piece.) Today it caused the fridge door shelf to fall. Taking many (MANY) glass bottles and jars down with it in the process. It made that distinctive sound of shattering glass as it collided with the floor. Spattering glass shards and condiments across the kitchen floor. Worcestershire sauce soaking into the back door mat. Such a lovely sight. And smell.

Is it the fault of the pizza box, or the person handling it? I'll let you be the judge...

Brrr

Had to turn the heat on. Shh, don't tell Keith I turned it off! :) It's so cold -- there is actually a "freeze warning" in effect until tomorrow morning. Um, it's May now, people were just walking around in shorts...
Speaking of May,
Mothers Day Pictures, Images and Photos
to all you moms out there!
Hopefully you weren't planning any outside events, such as a picnic or camping for the day! Unless of course you live somewhere in which the weather isn't crazy!

I had such a headache yesterday -- allergies and the changing weather pressure did a number on me! Feeling better today, but I slept horrible, so I know I'll feel exhausted nevertheless.

Nothing exciting happening with me as of late. Keeping busy with work. Trying to not to think about the upcoming summer hours that are still an unknown amount. (Hopefully we'll find out soon.) Keeping my fingers crossed that steady work will be coming in for Keith -- he worries enough for the both of us, so I try not to dwell on it. No new knitting at the moment. I had started a hat -- about 3 times actually -- kept finding a mistake & tearing it apart to start over. Mostly doing Sudoku & the like. Came across a good site for online games -- very addictive! (You are warned!)

Countdown

It's been one week and counting since I've been without internet. I've finally borrowed a computer to try to catch up on all things internet related. Fun stuff like e-mail, and the boring stuff like paying bills... But the best part is that I'm trying to get my ducks in a row for our departure. We're going on vacation in one week!!! WooHoo!!! Warm, sunny vacationy goodness is just ahead...

Lost Knitting

Just before my vacation time in December I began a scarf/wrap in a "double bump" pattern. It took entirely too long to be a Christmas gift... I finished it the first week of January. The scarf ended up being about 11.5 by 31.5 inches in size -- that's 46 rows of a "4 row pattern." Each of these 4 rows took about 17 minutes (I timed myself several times while we were driving to and fro for the holidays!). I think it turned out nice and snuggly! It would make a nice blanket, but holy moley that would be a lot of hours!
My other project this week was a second version of the Stella hat. It may possibly have taken me as long as the scarf, but I didn't notice since I was marathoning "Lost" while I knitted. (I don't think it took as long though.)

Funny Sight

Each morning when I drive to work I pass through an intersect where a police man directs traffic outside of a school. Friday had a new sight for me that gave me a chuckle. Two boys were making their way to the above intersection via a sidewalk. However the sidewalk had not been shoveled. No problem - they had their own shovel! They were making their own path, shovelful by shovelful! Glad I wasn't them! :)

Thanks George

When he started working on this short film, director Lucas Martell sought only to learn the basics of 3D animation. Five years later, he delivers a real little masterpiece worthy of the Pixar movies! Six minutes of wonder to watch alone or with family.
Pigeon Impossible takes us into the heart of a funny story of a secret agent and a pigeon lover of bagels! The short film has won numerous awards since its release, such as honors at the Festival des Films du Monde in the category Best Short Film. Lucas Martel has documented the production of his film in a series of videos you can watch on the YouTube channel.

December Projects

Project 1: the bathroom

Nothing left in here!

Cause it's all outside!

After the walls & floor were in, the tub was next.

Then the floor was leveled, the heating element installed, then the tile.

The bathroom is done!
