Ooops -- forgot to go back & publish this!

I finally feel like the seasons have changed. Non-winter blooming plants are on the rise... particularly my irises! (Too bad it's taken til almost June to fell like spring has sprung.)

Belated & Advanced Congrats

I wanted to show off my cousin Chad's little girl -- she turned 1 this past Thursday. (I think she's such a cutie!) This is the most recent picture of her I have... but I'm not sure when it was taken. My grandmother gave it to me when I was visiting... (I can't remember when) -- I believe she received it in December (it wasn't dated). Hopefully I'll have a much more recent one soon since he is visiting as I type this. (I'll remember these dates!)Anyway as I said, Thursday was Jasmine's birthday. Happy Happy Birthday to you!!!
Friday, he & Dang got married! Congratulations to you both!!!!
[This is an old picture, possibly from his August visit last year (but don't hold me to that).]

It's gorgeous! (Doesn't it make you want to go to Thailand too?) I hope he brings home lots of pictures for my grandmother (cause she shares!).

Oh, and next week is Dang's birthday (That's my "advanced" one.) -- So I hope you had a wonderful ceremony & have a delightful birthday.

Best wishes! :)

Yeah, yeah...

... I know. It's been a while. I'm a procrastinator who ends up putting it off all together. (Guess that makes me a well accomplished procrastinator, doesn't it!) I think of things to write about, put it off... then too much time passes by. Either I don't remember at that point or just lack the motivation.

I did get out in the yard again (referring to the previous post). I think it was the next night or so. The pile of leaves I gathered was actually much larger than the previous -- but still not enough to put a dent into what needs to be done! Then there was rain... and cold weather... and congestion.

Do pine trees produce pollen? On one of our not so rainy days, Keith had the sprinkler going (he's attempting to get some grass seeds growing) & when the water would hit the pine branches this puff of green would billow off of it, slowly dissipating into the air. I was guessing it had fallen off of other trees & simply landed on the pines. Either way, it was enough reason not to go near when I had been horribly congested for quite some time.

Then there's the oh so lovely weather (said sarcastically). It's snowed twice since my last post & there was sleet in there too. It's May people. I'm done with winter. It needs to go away. Pronto. The colder temperatures wouldn't be so bad if they didn't follow decent, truly spring-like days. Then the cold just feels so much colder. This morning I had to break out my winter coat. When I arrived at work, it was snowing. In the words of Joss, "Grrr Argh."

On a brighter note... On one of the "spring-like days" I was able to take a few pictures outside. I discovered that while the majority of my smashed flowering almond was bare, one branch truly flourished. (Dead trees &/or branches have fallen far too many times on it.) It was a pleasant site since just before that I was wondering if it was alive at all. ... And no, I didn't get those leaves up yet!

This weekend friends from out of town were visiting... Sarah & I made our way to the mountain for a walk in the woods. It was almost cut short by threatening rain drops -- they disappeared after we turned around. So we went another direction! We came across some lovely trilliums -- I had to take a picture or two... I was excited to see them, mine have yet to bloom.
