My Trip (your wait is over!)

Why not listen to some music while you view all the slideshows? Think of it as a soundtrack!

Last Saturday was my travel day -- most of my time was spent in the car & at the airport. Once I got to North Carolina I got the 25 cent tour, then we hung out & simply enjoyed each other's company.

Sunday, being the weekend, was our family day. We did some driving around the towns. We went through Graham, Burlington & don't blink or you might miss Saxapahaw! Then we went to see a movie - Night at the Museum 2. Later that evening I had a knitting lesson!

Monday, time to go back to work & time for theater camp for the oldest. KC & I took the little one to the Niche Gardens & the NC Botanical Gardens. Lots of walking & photo taking to be had. Later that evening we got a sitter & the adults went to the movies to see the latest Harry Potter movie.

Tuesday
KC, the little one & I went to Chapel Hill for more photo taking. We stopped in at the university to pick up Will for lunch at Pizza Hut. Later we drove to Mebane to wait for camp to be over. Since we had time we stopped at a 99 cent book store -- ooohhh! I found fabulous card making idea books (scrapbook style - just my kind!) which were originally $20 a pop. WooHoo! Later that night we joined the neighbors for some frolicking in the yard. The neighborhood kids took turns sharing the quad with each other & with us! Then after the kids went to bed KC & I stayed to play Wii bowling with Kara.

Wednesday morning we got a sitter for the little one so KC & I could head out solo. We went to Hobby Lobby - talk about a WOW factor - if we had tons of spending money (and room for me to pack) we would have walked out with so much stuff. Alas we did not. But I did find a few things to make a small purchase (financially & luggage wise). Next we had a lunch for two at Applebees. Mmm spinach dip & chips! Later that night were the festivities! First we had a rehearsal for the Alice in Wonderland monolog & then Christmas in July!

Thursday, alas, was my day of departure so we hung out at the house. We took one last walk around the neighborhood & I had my last knitting practice in NC.

Here's my new favorite plant. (I seem to find one where ever I travel!) Anybody have any idea what it is? Sometimes they were shaped like shrubs, other times trees, but always flowers around the outside (white & a range of fusha to lavendar). [Scroll up to the still photos above the video with the kids in laundry basket to see a close up of some blossoms.

With a little help from Fergus (I think that was his name -- the GPS unit) we made our way safe & sound to the airport. My solo flight was smooth sailing. :)

QMx Little Damn Heroes

Ok, I thought the little Kaylee maquette was cute with her parasol, but Jayne is so damn cute with his hat!

On the road again!

Now that I'm completely out of routine it's proving difficult to return to it. Staying up late, sleeping in... that sort of thing. Hopefully tonight I can get to bed a bit earlier & in turn get up earlier, to help ease into that Monday morning "got to return to work" time. I'll be squeezing all my work hours into Monday through Thursday morning so we can get on the road, again. This time it's a family trip to Rhode Island to visit Keith's mom's side of the family. Cross your fingers that rain is not in the forecast for our traveling days (Thursday & Sunday if you want to do a "hold off on the rain" dance), otherwise we won't be taking the bug. Which would be a big disappointment because his cousin who painted it will be up there & wants to show it off to his family. Then Sunday we will be stopping in eastern PA to visit my grandmother for her birthday.

(Still need to get to Keith's office computer to get photos from there... I will have them soon I promise. Jeez, get off my back already!)
