Doughy goodness

Tonight I made my grandmother's recipe for pot pie.
MMMM...
Dough-y goodness!
(That's my favorite part.)

A few weeks ago I was asked which movies I've enjoyed recently...
At that time my mind went blank
(brain was too full of other thoughts to process the question).
So, if you're not preoccupied taking care of newborn infants,
looking for a new job,
planning multiple baby showers,
desperately trying to find a dump truck,
or any other event
keeping you from relaxing & enjoying a flick...
---
Here are my recent top 5 picks:
The Interpreter
Blood Diamond
Casino Royale
Stranger Than Fiction
The Prestige
----
(Not in enjoyment order, simply most recent at the top.)

So... Have you seen anything good lately?

Pardon Me

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Pardon me Mother Nature, but I think you're a bit confused.
It's spring now, not winter.
Outside it looks like a recently shaken snow globe.
It's only in the 30s today.
I'm quite chilly.
A few days ago it was in the 70s.
The birds and flowers had started to show themselves...
please don't send them packing...
I'm sure they are confused.
This person certainly is.
I'm ready for spring again.
Anytime now, please!

Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring

Secret Project

Hello people in blog land. Sorry I haven't been around for 1/2 a month. We've had a secret project in the midst during my posting absense. Everything was hush-hush for a surprise reveal. (Hense the lack of information. Can't have a true surprise if hints are given!) The discovery was made around midnight last night by my mom. Pretty good surprise if I do say so myself!

So here is the 'new & improved' kitchen for all of you... Almost. :) Here are some before pictures to refresh your memory.

First task was replacing the floor. I managed to snap a shot at the half-way point. Doesn't the difference look amazing!

(During the process I also had a walk down memory lane regarding the original floor...)

Are you giddy with anticipation? Here it is (not complete, but good enough for sharing)...

Keith's such a hard worker! With just a little help from a friend, he installed the floor. Built the corner cabinet by himself (recycled the other from the original kitchen -- it was in the basement all this time), new counter (again Keith's handywork), and some new colors too.
