Holiday Weekend

Last Friday after work I headed out on the open road. I spent the funfilled, but rather tiring, weekend with my mom. We ate well & hung out with the flowers!

Saturday at the Holden Arboretum...
Hours and hours worth of lovely flowers, plants, frogs and geese to be found! (Ok, so frogs and geese aren't as lovely as the foliage, but there were tons of them!)
Gardians of the Garden...
A 150 year old tree fell in 2007 and the lower trunk was turned into a work of art!
Help find the green man hiding in the stump.
Any luck?

Then we went to the mountain for more hiking & to check out the view.

By the by...that is my official advertising for Paul Blart since we watched it over the weekend. :) Funny movie, check it out. ... I love his segway!...

Lost Eye Test

If you haven't watched Lost's finale "The Incident" yet, don't worry I there won't be any spoilers here...

After the episode they had their advert (UK podcast influence...) for the *duh duh duh* final season of Lost. On it there was a flash of a character's eye ball, as they frequently do through out the show. I was bound & determined to figure out who's eye ball it belonged to. With my searching I came up with a quiz for all you Lost fans out there...

Identify the eye balls! No researching now! If you leave your answers in a comment, I'll let you know if you are right or not. Do you get lost enough to know who's who?

Browncoats

Browncoats, you can help create a part of the Verse!

The latest fan film in the works is Browncoats: Redemption and they're looking for help finding the ship's voice.

1. Follow the link to the Sending a Wave blog for Show 46.
2. Click on the feed link for the show recording.
3. Push "play" then "pause" so it can load.
4. Do something else & give it a few minutes to load. (I don't know how many exactly... I got distracted & lost track of the time... only a few though.)
5A. Fast forward to 37:50 of the show to hear the segment on the Browncoats: Redemption contest & listen to the five finalists.
5B. If you're in a hurry, take 4 minutes & listen to just the finalists' entries... go to 42:26.
6. Go to the poll on the right sidebar & vote for you favorite computer voice!

Poll ends May 21st -- So go vote... because when Browncoats are running the show, your vote actually counts!

I'm refering to NASA's poll to vote for a name for Node 3...
"Serenity" won the poll, but NASA chose a different suggestion.
(Yes their reasoning makes sense, but it's the concept of a vote! Plus it's a Browncoat thing!)

Funny Forward

When your boyfriend, husband or significant other does something that makes you angry don't give in to the temptation to argue and fight. Just count to ten, remain calm and after he goes to bed, super-glue his flip flops to the floor.

I could watch this one over and over?. OH wait a minute?I have!!!

Nothing Happening Here

It's been a while... trying to think what's been going on...
Last weekend I had my green thumb on -- planted some flowers in the planter boxes along the wall/steps. Got some sun on my arms as well -- so the farmer tan has begun. (I'm sure it won't go away either!)
This weekend I completed the "Birds of Prey" series. We also watched "The Spirit" to keep the comic book theme. (I recommend it if you like that sort of thing.) It had an interesting preview for "Repo: The Genetic Opera." My biggest draw to it was when I heard Anthony Steward Head (Giles from Buffy) singing -- I recognized his voice right away! Ok, so it's got Paris Hilton too -- but she looks nothing like herself, so maybe I can ignore that it's her...
Sigh...it's been cold & rainy. Particularly feels that way since it was so nice last weekend. Sigh.
