Yeah, yeah...

... I know. It's been a while. I'm a procrastinator who ends up putting it off all together. (Guess that makes me a well accomplished procrastinator, doesn't it!) I think of things to write about, put it off... then too much time passes by. Either I don't remember at that point or just lack the motivation.

I did get out in the yard again (referring to the previous post). I think it was the next night or so. The pile of leaves I gathered was actually much larger than the previous -- but still not enough to put a dent into what needs to be done! Then there was rain... and cold weather... and congestion.

Do pine trees produce pollen? On one of our not so rainy days, Keith had the sprinkler going (he's attempting to get some grass seeds growing) & when the water would hit the pine branches this puff of green would billow off of it, slowly dissipating into the air. I was guessing it had fallen off of other trees & simply landed on the pines. Either way, it was enough reason not to go near when I had been horribly congested for quite some time.

Then there's the oh so lovely weather (said sarcastically). It's snowed twice since my last post & there was sleet in there too. It's May people. I'm done with winter. It needs to go away. Pronto. The colder temperatures wouldn't be so bad if they didn't follow decent, truly spring-like days. Then the cold just feels so much colder. This morning I had to break out my winter coat. When I arrived at work, it was snowing. In the words of Joss, "Grrr Argh."

On a brighter note... On one of the "spring-like days" I was able to take a few pictures outside. I discovered that while the majority of my smashed flowering almond was bare, one branch truly flourished. (Dead trees &/or branches have fallen far too many times on it.) It was a pleasant site since just before that I was wondering if it was alive at all. ... And no, I didn't get those leaves up yet!

This weekend friends from out of town were visiting... Sarah & I made our way to the mountain for a walk in the woods. It was almost cut short by threatening rain drops -- they disappeared after we turned around. So we went another direction! We came across some lovely trilliums -- I had to take a picture or two... I was excited to see them, mine have yet to bloom.

Tonight

Instead of hopping on the treadmill as I was intending, I made my way out doors to put a dent in the yard work. I started in one little area (section from the lavendar to the heather)...

This is what I took out...And it's just the beginning!
Hopefully that qualifies as some exercise (that was my intention afterall). I was actually outside longer than I would have been on the treadmill. So, I've got that going for me. :)

Ahh, spring has sprung!

Yippee!
.
It's 55 degrees. A bit overcast, but no rain -- they had been calling for it all day! After coming home from work I was able to go out back & take a few photos of the blooms. No winter coat required.
.
Oh happy day!
.
Not all the photos are prize winning ones, due to the flowers being drenched & withering. Nonetheless I have a few to share... They are on the sidebar under "Backyard Blooms." I'm hoping to keep that area updated as new things come into bloom. :)
.
Hope you all have a good weekend!!!

Still here

I'm alive. Sorry nothing exciting going on here.
.
Between being tired & busy I've just been distracted. With work I've taken on a 3 hour/week case (in addition to my other one) -- that's definately been a change for me. Without going into details, I've just been "off" since then (beginning of the month).
.
Then I was trying to finish organizing the vacation photos & slideshow -- for myself & the rest of those who went. It took many trial & errors to achieve a finished product. But it turned out good -- we enjoyed the slideshow this afternoon during George's birthday brunch.
.
Plus there was the holiday. Keith & I traveled East to visit my family that Friday afternoon. Had a crazy rushed visit with various people that evening & the next day. Since my mom was also visiting the area, I returned home with her, while Keith left ahead of us. Which left Sunday to spend with his family (& my mom too since she spent the night).
.
I don't know if it's from day light savings time, the kids being sick at school (& coughing all over the place), a combination of the two (or other factors), but I've been exhausted lately. The weekend away definately didn't help me gain sleep by any means. Unfortunately one night of poor sleep can affect me for days... so several nights (weeks?) of not enough sleep, does not sit well with me.
.
Anyway, not intending to complain, but it was pointed out to me that I haven't posted for a while. Well, this is why. :) Hope all is well with you guys. Congrats to the arrival of Baby O!

Ahh... what fun!

Last night Keith found a program on coasters. It happened to feature ones we rode at Busch Gardens on our vacation. It was so cool I wanted to share it with you guys. To do that I went to YouTube... some of the videos are from the show, others are from elsewhere...

The SheiKra Coaster -- the time of 1:30-2:30 puts you in the front seat!
SheiKra Freak Out! (Only see the rider, but it's funny!)

The Montu Coaster -- a little background & front seat riding

This one is a good combo of the top 3 coasters at the park.
