Add another

We can add to the list...
Frontosa Cichlid
So now we're pushing the $200 mark. Yippee.
While the money didn't literally get flushed down the toilet
(went out the front door),
it sure feels that way.

The theory is that the filter wasn't working properly.
No oxygen = dead fish.

Goodbye

Well, we lost about $100-$150 worth of fish last night.
They are now fertilizer for the plants in the front yard.
So goodbye...

Sometimes it's good...

Sometimes it's good to live a dull, humdrum sort of life...
We were sitting at home last night & noticed the fish tank was sounding a little noisier than usual. It was, and for good reason. The water was coming out... from the bottom. It almost looked like it was raining underneath it. If Keith wasn't so stressed by it, I would have taken a picture to share with you. (I waited til it was under control.)
I'm just glad we were home. While it wouldn't be an actual 120 gallons of water on the floor (rocks, plants & fish take up room too), I wouldn't have wanted to come home to it when it was done. So a few hours later the empty tank ended up outside (stand is under tarp since it was raining); the dining room became SOF (SaveOurFish) central -- he had to set up the smaller tank just for it; & the living room looks a bit larger.

I tried to find an old picture showing the tank in the living room, but with no luck. Just put your imagination to work -- picture the tank hovering above were the filters are sitting on the floor. Maybe I'll come across photos in the near future to share.

Veggies

Hybiscus

Far & Few In Between

I know. It's been a while. I've discovered that blogging can be like exercise. I can maintain the behavior for so long, then like magic, it can just come to an abrupt halt. I can recall learning in on of my psych classes that it takes fourteen days to make a habit. Too bad for me I can break a habit I'm trying to create like 'that' (snap your fingers for full effect). I also feel that my life has come to the 'boredom phase', I just don't know what to say or do. My garden is taking on that appearence too. I'm just so tired of the critters attacking that I don't venture out back too much. I'll water the veggie containers on the front before work... and that's about it. The "plant high" has worn off since I'm not growing anymore seedlings indoors. I'd get so excited about how they'd grow & develop... but now there's nothing there. Outside things are getting eaten & destroyed... It's depressing. Which is why you haven't had anything to read for a while.

Suggestions anyone?

Makes Me Laugh

Have you ever come across something randomly & it just makes you laugh?
Well, I did tonight...
Here are some "already been nibbled on" cookie cutters. Hope it makes you giggle at least.
(Or a chuckle if that's not your thing!)
