A 'forward' that just had to be shared.

Look closely at the package. Just below the words Fresco Lavado....

What probably happened is, the water the lettuce was washed in contained polliwogs and these became fresh new frogs, right in the packages. So if you're looking for salad fixins with a little more body, then be sure and try this brand.

Well, it's official...

...there will be no winter vacation for us this year.
We've spent our funds on house projects.
There were odd jobs here & there,
and some more substantial ones on top of that.
Here's the most significant change:
I rather like it.
It actually consisted of several jobs...
repointing mortar joints;
replacing the soffit and fascia;
siding & vent work;
fixing popped bricks...
then the paint!
In addition to the exterior, we put some money into the living room.
Fresh paint on the trim, new curtains & a rug.
So, to all of our disappointment,
we will not be joining Keith's family in Florida this year.
(No new vacation blog either.)

Reunion of sorts

Last night I came across a show called, How I Met Your Mother. I never saw it before, I believe it was the finale from last season. It was rather amusing. However what captured my initial interest was that it was like a Buffy/Angel reunion. In the first few minutes I saw Willow, Wesley & Fred (Allison, Alexis, & Amy respectively -- all A's... interesting). I don't know how the other episodes are, but that one was pretty good!

Arts Festival

Today a friend & I visited the some local arts festivals. We discovered a really cool stand at the Log Cabin Arts Festival. The woman we met grows gourds on her property & turns them into beautiful & functional works of art. While today is the last day for the log cabin, maybe you'll find her at another event, or you can just look online. Check out her new website: Ginger Jar Gourds.

I bought a birdhouse (which I'm just going to use as decoration) & a Fairy Dream Bird House.

"What's that?" you say. Well, here's the story behind it The Dream Fairy Bird is a tiny, little bird that flies into your bedroom at night to give you pleasant dreams. You hang the little birdhouse near your bed so the Fairy Bird has a place to sleep during the day. (While the picture doesn't show it, the gourd is mearly 3 inches tall.)

Veggies (cont.)

So when a radish flowers, what does that mean for the vegetable? Is it edible (as in will it make you sick)? If it is, is it even palatable? I'm not a radish eater, so I'm not going to try it, but can I give it to somebody else?

The peppers & tomatoes are doing well. Finally getting some red ones. Some of the peppers are very tiny, but at least they're the appropriate color! (The last cuke on the plant is still yellow!)
